…and a post a couple of days late. :/
It may have taken me a while to get just these few photos pulled and put together, but that by no means reflects my feelings for the sweet and precious daddies the Lord has put into my life. I told Martin before our daughter was born that there’s no one to a girl like her daddy. And it’s true. My hero/daddy could do no wrong in this little girl’s eyes. Superman ain’t got nothin’ on him. Same goes for my sweet grandpas!
Also, clearly, this was an extra special Father’s Day because it was the first one for my husband, the incredible father of my lovely daughter. We didn’t do anything grand. Eva Jane and I bought him a card with a ship on it. (He likes ships.) And we tried to throw in a few extra little things throughout the day to make him a happy daddy. Mostly, we enjoyed spending time together as a little family. There’s not much that makes my heart swell with love for this man more than seeing him doting on our baby girl. I love that she already recognizes that he’s the fun one and showers him to coos and smiles. (I also love listening in on their father-daughter chats that they have while they think I’m in the other room.)
Thanks for not only being a wonderful husband to me, dear, but also for being such a precious daddy to our daughter.

I’m not sure why this Father’s day more than others, but I felt the pangs of having lost this grandpa more than usual on Sunday. Perhaps it’s the realization that I’ll never be able to introduce my daughter to him. I certainly loved my Grandpa Jack.
