Breaking. Fuller Style.
by carriemeghan
Well, it’s the 3rd (ish) official week of winter break – however, the until Wednesday of this past week, we were out of town. We had a lovely time, I will have you know. But, I question how much real, inward rest can be obtained away from one’s own home. So, this is my week of real breaking. And, much to hub’s chagrin, I’m spending it “resting” according to MY definition. See photographs below:
I’ve been knitting. Above = the first project. It’s a present. But, I’ve restarted it multiple times already, and it turns out I’m still doing it wrong. So, what will it be? I dunno. But, I don’t want to start over again…again.
Also, I’ve been knitting these…:
This is going to be a pretty little purple/cream/brown scarf for me.
And this one is leftover from last time I was into knitting. (Which was approximately seven years ago. I had to teach myself how to knit again…via youtube videos.)
To make Hubby happy, I have also taken on another “project” — “Project-finish-thank-you-notes.”
Everything pictured above can be done from my bed – so this makes me very happy. I stay here. Making myself feel productive by knitting and writing notes. Occasionally I drift into the kitchen for…:
…coffee, or….
…some of the healthy groceries we recently stocked up on. (ie, cucumber/mint/lemon water or strawberry/banana/kale/yogurt smoothie).
While I’ve been busy doing MY kind of breaking, he’s been doing some breaking of his own. His “resting” looks a lot like work to me. On his days off, he’d be happy doing yard work, household projects, even occasional cleaning. But, his current project (which I’m super excited about) is building bookshelves. (Note: our office has had piles books stacked along the wall since we’ve moved in. We own a LOT of books…..)
So. That’s what we’ve been up to. And, for those who’ve noticed my unresponsiveness – I’ve been using our missing-a-phone-charger as a well-deserved excuse to leave my phone dead and far away from me. If you’ve tried to get in touch with me – try fb. Or, I’ll get with you in a few days – when I’m done with my little break.

Yes. If you need help staying in bed (though I seem to remember your break is over) see Nicole’s blog. She has tips.
AND, tell Martin the bookshelves are fabulous. Wow. Can’t wait to see them in place.
